Strike Zone Investing is a small team building one product: a screener for value investors that pairs hard quantitative filters with LLM-evaluated qualitative judgement. Below is the why, the how, and the who.
For value investors, the bottleneck isn't access to data — it's the discipline of applying a consistent framework to thousands of companies. Numeric screeners stop at metrics they can read off a balance sheet. Manual research stops at the dozen companies you have time for. Neither is sufficient.
The recent generation of LLMs changes the economics of that second category. A model can read a 10-K, a proxy statement, and a transcript, and evaluate a specific qualitative question against the contents — accurately enough, often enough, that it becomes useful as an analyst extender. Not as an oracle. As a reader.
The thesis: pair a fast numeric pre-filter with an LLM that applies your written qualitative questions across the survivors. Track the handful that emerge. Wait for prices that match the framework. We couldn't find a product that did this the way we wanted it done. So we built one.

Every LLM pass or fail comes with the reasoning and the source. A black-box "AI confidence: 87%" is worse than useless. It's misleading.

We notify you when a stock you're watching enters its buy range — nothing else. No daily summary. No engagement bait. When something pings, it matters.
No execution.
We don't touch your brokerage. We don't move your money. We don't take a percentage of assets. Subscription plus per-use, that's the whole business model.

We're rolling out access in waves to a small group of early users — most of them serious self-directed investors or professionals. Every new account starts with a free trial — a handful of free screens on the plan of your choice — so you can feel the product working before paying anything.
We are not in a hurry to add features. We are very interested in cutting features that don't earn their place.
